About the Rhodesian Ridgeback
Oh my Gosh where shall I start! The Rhodesian Ridgeback is a very Athletic dog and needs some form of exercise everyday. For those who want the wonderful qualities of the Rhodesian but don't have a yard or time to walk them, doggy day care works out great. Ridgebacks are the absolute best family dog you could ask for, they are loving, loyal, great with other animals including cats, and will protect their people at all cost. Ridgebacks are fun dogs as they can keep up with you no matter what your sport is. We like to take ours with us when we go horseback riding. Sometimes while we're riding we come across a spot so beautiful I have to stop and climb the rocks or cross streams to get to the spot I want to take pictures of, and of course my Ridgebacks are right behind me. Ridgebacks are NOT a dog to be thrown in the backyard and seen once a day, they want to be with you at all times, if your watching TV, reading a book or taking a nap your Ridgeback will be at your feet. The Rhodesian ridgeback is a VERY intelligent breed and want's very much to please you. When you get your puppy start training right away. Be consistent and don't let your puppy do anything you won't want him to doing at 100 pounds.
Ridgebacks are chow hounds and will eat as much as you let them, so don't think he's starving when he begs for food. Monitor his intake and the best treat is an ice cube, 0 calories and if you start them young they will love that ice cube as much as they do that very fattening cookie and they can have as many as they want. The down side of owning a Ridgeback is in 6 months or so you'll be wanting another one. They are like potato chips, you can't stop at one! We don't recommend getting 2 at once, wait 4-6 months then add the second one. The reason for this is you want your puppy to bond to you first, not another puppy. Remember to take lots of pictures because they grow so fast that
puppy hood will be a blur. If you've never been owned by a Rhodesian Ridgeback before, you're in for a treat.
A little about us
My name is Diane and my husband is Dominic. We have always been avid pet lovers and have always had a dog of some kind. In 2004, we got our first Ridgeback (Kiki). It didn't take long to realize that Kiki was by far the best dog we had ever owned. She is loyal, loving, fun and best of all, she is happy doing what ever we are doing. Six months later, we wanted another Ridgeback for her to play with. Nina also joined our family in 2004. Over the next few years we acquired several other great Rhodesian ridgebacks. Our love for Rhodesians has grown into showing and breeding. However, we are very particular about the homes for our puppies. We keep in touch with the people that do get a puppy from us for the life of the puppy, they become like a second family. |
Our puppies have great temperaments, health and conformation. All puppies are microchiped before they go to their new homes! All our dogs are family members and like all family members they live in the house. We are located in Jamestown,Tennessee. If at all possible we'd love to have you to stop by and visit the gang and play with the puppies if we have any available. If you live in the southern states we will deliver your puppy for a small fee. Just to cover gas.

Nu vet plus is all natural. This is good for dogs that have allergies, growing puppies and older dogs. They also make Nu joint for dogs that have sore joints, also good for growing puppies and older dogs. I have ALL my dogs on it. The 1st time I tried Nu-Vet it was on Jack, my old rescue Dobbie, he had cataracts and within a week they started fading and his coat was shining like a puppy again. I keep ALL my dogs on it. I swear by it.

Dog Trainer
If your in need of a great dog trainer I highly reccommend Ashleigh. I have never personally used or meet her but I have a puppy person that they sent their puppy there. At the same time she graduated they got their 2nd puppy and they sent him to her. If your lucky enough to read her blog while he's still there his name is Mekko.
